SCCC offers a wide variety of ongoing classes and workshops for students of all ages.   • 5Rythms® Dance

    Ongoing: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 7:30pm-9:30pm

    A Simple, yet powerful moving meditation practice designed to release the inner organic movement that lives in every body, no matter its shape, size, age limitations and experience.

  • Classical Flute Lessons

    Individual instruction for beginning through advanced students of all ages. Focus on proper flute technique, basic theory, and site reading. Patient and experienced teacher.

    Judo is a practical martial art, that emphasizes throwing and grappling techniques skillfully applied. Judo is a highly effective martial art which emphasizes throwing and grappling techniques skillfully applied. It is also a mental discipline that values respect for others.

  • Drawing and Painting

    Drawing and Painting

    Mondays 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

    This class is for all levels: instruction in drawing with pencil, charcoal, pastels; painting in watercolor, acrylics and non-toxic oils.

  • Feldenkrais Back Awareness

    Discover new possibilities for your mind and body through gentle, easy to do exercises. You may find a new sense of freedom of movement, reduction of old aches, and inspiration for the mind and body.

  • Flowing Dragon Swords

    A Game/Practice of communication, relationship and movement which involves the crossing and continuous touching of wooden swords, engaging in deep dialog with the other, inviting a greater understanding of the Self.

  • Gentle Yoga

    Start your day by gently awakening your body. The practice of Hatha Yoga will increase your bodyʼs strength and flexibility. A yoga practice will also enhance your mind-body connection.

  • Individual or Small Group Singing or Guitar Instruction

    Pablo teaches vocal technique and musicianship for singers, with an emphasis on understanding how the voice works and how to sing with comfort and ease. Pablo also works with strengthening choral skills, sight singing and vocal improvisation.

  • Intermediate Belly Dance

    Session 1: Mondays 7:45 - 8:45

    Students will expand their dancing repertoire. Performance opportunities, improvisation and more complex choreographies will be covered.

  • Jazzercise

    Monday Jazzercise: Mondays 9 am

    Tuesday Step N Sculpt: Tuesdays 9 am or 6 pm

    The original dance exercise phenomenon! Each 60-minute workout is a fusion of dance and muscle toning movements choreographed to todayʼs hottest music, including Top 40, jazz, country, funk and classics.

    A unique approach to personal training in a small group setting with your instructor. Personal Touch is designed to increase your muscle tone.

    Little Hoopers

    Little Hoopers is an exciting new basketball program for children ages 2 - 6 years. This fun-filled program is committed to the physical and social development of children through basketball. Learn to dribble, pass shoot and even slam-dunk a basketball at Little Hoopers!

    2 to 4 years: Thursdays: 10:30 - 11:15

    2 to 4 years: Saturdays: 10:00 - 10:45 (No Saturday class in September)

    5 - 6 years: Saturdays: 11:00 - 11:45

  • Live Oak Karate

    Live Oak Karate

    Session 1: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

    Live Oak Karate is a practice of awareness and self-defense through training in the Art of Karatedo.

  • Medical QiGong and Meditation

    Session 1: Thursdays 6 pm - 7 pm

    Session 2: Saturdays 10 am

    QiGong is an ancient self-healing system for health, longevity, and spiritual cultivation. This emphasizes the purging of energetic impurities and the strengthening of what the Chinese Daoists call the three treasures of Jing, Qi and Shen.

  • Modern Dance for Adults

    Session 1: Tuesdays 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

    This class is designed for both the returning dance student and the currently training student who wishes to increase strength, flexibility, and range of movement.

  • Modern Dance for Youth

    A modern dance class for young people who had previous dance training or comparable physical training.

  • On the Move Modern Dance

    Discover yourself in your body. Explore your deep inner skeleton and learn to move it efficiently. A series of simple floor and intricate standing exercises move into a phrase combination.

  • Open Hand Yoga

    Session 1: 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

    Open Hand Yoga is an empowering blend of Yoga Postures. Tai Chi principles, mindfulness, play and breath awareness is designed to free your mind, relax your body and open your heart.

  • Qigong Practice Group

    Learn gentle movements and powerful visualizations.

    Summer Session

    Enter into the stream of a 5000-year-old health and wellness practice taught by a master who grew up learning the Ancient ways of Chinese wisdom.

  • Take Nami Do

    Session 1: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4:00 - 5:00

    A national award winning program that deals with an art of self-defense that provides discipline and develops confidence, and can neutralize hostility through alternative, nonviolent and safe means.

  • Watercolor

    Are you interested in learning to use transparent watercolors? You can study the basic techniques or enjoy a more advanced exploration of painting with instruction by Berenice Iriks.

    Session 1: Fridays 10:30 - Noon

    Through Thia's expertise as a yoga therapist, she skillfully weaves intention, breath and movement to facilitate connection with one's own vitality. Appropriate modifications are offered to accommodate for injuries and limitations.

  • Yoga For Lifeʼs Sake

    Session 1: Saturdays 9 am - 10 am

    This gentle yoga will improve your health, assisting your body to strengthen and to become more flexible for beginning and intermediate students for adults over 40.

  • Yoga Heart

    Session 1: Mondays 10:30 to Noon

    Session 2: Tuesdays 6 pm - 7:30 pm

    Increase awareness, well being and lessen pain and stress. Improve capacity of breath and range of motion. Develop flexibility with strength together in mind and body. Individual appropriate adaptations.
