CPR for Adult, Children & Infants
CPR on Wed, 1/25/12 from 6pm - 9:30pm will be at the Garzot Duffield Building
Have you ever wondered what you would do if your child stopped breathing or your husband had a heart attack or your neighbor choked on a piece of meat? Every second counts. Without CPR only eight percent of people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside the hospital survive. Take this fun, hands–on CPR class and be prepared. Learn to use an AED (Automatic External Defi bulator). Participants will receive a 2 year AHA Adult, Child and Infant CPR certificate. Register with SCCC.

Daoist Meditation
Broadly speaking, meditation can be defined as “the inward focus of attention in a state of mind where ego–related concerns and critical evaluations are suspended in favor of perceiving a deeper, subtler, and possibly divine flow of consciousness.” (Daoist scholar, Livia Kohn) Shifu Michael’s approach to meditation incorporates the above definition of meditation in the Daoist/Buddhist practice of zuowang, or “sitting in forgetfulness or oblivion,” and the doan practice of asking: What is Not Two?

I also offer tools from various ancient traditions as well as modern psychology that aim at deeper freedom from distress & selfishness. Looking deeply at what distresses us, a chance for us to experience that which is not distressed is present. The opportunity is to know this as our ever present state.
