Ballroom Dancing with the Seniors

“Dancing with the Seniors” is a modified Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Salsa dance program that includes dance warm-ups, performance by instructor and dance instruction in all of the ballroom dances, based on the abilities of the individual dances. A brief dance history lesson is also included in the form of a “trivia quiz”, which is a fun-filled memory exercise for the group.

Basic Photoshop
Maximizing your digital tools.
Learn the essential features of Photoshop and its utility bridge in how they satisfy the basic requirements of a photographer. This 2 day intensive workshop demonstrates the fundamentals of file management and basic retouching. Learn the digital workflow process with step-by-step instruction in organizing files, embedding metadata, editing, and more. The first day is dedicated to learning the techniques, the second to practice. Students must each bring their own laptop images to work with, and have basic computer skills.

Without CPR only eight percent of people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside the hospital survive. Take this fun, hands–on CPR class and be prepared. Daoist Meditation
Broadly speaking, meditation can be defined as “the inward focus of attention in a state of mind where ego–related concerns and critical evaluations are suspended in favor of perceiving a deeper, subtler, and possibly divine flow of consciousness.” (Daoist scholar, Livia Kohn) Shifu Michael’s approach to meditation incorporates the above definition of meditation in the Daoist/Buddhist practice of zuowang, or “sitting in forgetfulness or oblivion,” and the doan practice of asking: What is Not Two?

This 2 day intensive workshop focuses on maximizing your environment for more dynamic and intriguing images infusing content, composition, natural & ambient light. Become more comfortable with your camera as you learn how to hone your ability to see compositions and light quality in existing environments. Not a beginner course-students must already know the basic fundamentals of photography and have their own camera. Bring camera and manual.

Explorations of Freedom & Compassion
Class begins Oct 6th.
With exploration and inquiry, a maturing within consciousness can occur. What does it mean to be free and compassionate? How do we arrive at this? Are there tools we can use to dismantle that which is selfish and in distress? What is the evolution of consciousness? What is always here, unchanging and eternally free? Within that which is ever present, the knowing of freedom and the touch of compassion can arise.

Jin Shin Do Acupressure

Jin Shin Do is a system of acupressure using points along the energy channels called meridians. Pressure points are held by the fingers, releasing tensions of stress & holding in the body. As a holistic healing practice, Jin Shin Do assists the body, mind & spirit come to balance.
