    This year we will celebrate ‘Sweet Sixteen’ for our Celtic World Music Festival. Taking place from Sept. 24-26 the festival will once again highlight some of the best musicians of both the genre and the world, while showcasing some local talent as well. The theme for this year’s sweet sixteen event is “mad session party”, with many of the performers joining each other for a variety of configurations that in many cases are quite rare.

The line-up has a distinctly Irish and Canadian look to it this year and includes: six time all-Ireland fiddler Martin Hayes & guitar maestro Dennis Cahill, Irish super-group Lunasa, award-winning Irish singer Karan Casey & Grammy nominated dynamic guitarist John Doyle, popular award-winning Irish-American band Solas, the Juno (Candian Grammys) award-winning energizer-bunnies Le Vent du Nord (Quebec), dancing fiddler April Verch and her Band (Ottawa Valley, Ontario), percussive dancer Sandy Silva (Montreal), five time all-Ireland accordion player Jimmy Keane (Chicago), and more to announce in the near future.

The Friday morning show for school kids, which takes place at the Center on Sept. 24, includes Lunasa, along with the exciting percussive dancer Sandy Silva.
